Title: Something Unexpected·at the Bottom of Jenner's Garden: recent archaeological investigations Cost: £10 including glass of wine.
The 2009 archaeological dig revealed more tantalising clues to the early history of Berkeley. In his larger-than-life style, Doctor Stuart Prior, the biker-archaeologist, will wade through mud, bones and a few oyster shells to present the latest findings and ideas. Stuart Prior is a Lecturer in the Department of Archaeology & Anthropology, Bristol University, and the Fieldwork Director for the Berkeley Castle Project. He was also once a gravedigger.

Dr Jenner's Garden Party - Sunday May 16th 2010
The biggest event of the year! Celebrating the 30th Anniversary of the eradication of smallpox. Jenner discovered the vaccine for this dreadful disease and he may make an appearance at the Garden Party. It is the 216th anniversary of the first vaccination·on Friday 14th May and Jenner's Birthday is on Monday 17th May. Come along with the family to help us celebrate! A craft fair, period music and possibly the opportunity to meet the great man himself.
