This site is your front door to the world of Dr Edward Jenner, one of the world's greatest scientists. Click on the highlighted words on this page to visit the relevant section of the site.
He was the man who taught us how to use vaccines to fight disease. He used the harmless cowpox to defeat the deadly smallpox. He also studied such things as fossils, bird migration, hibernation, balloons and the cuckoo. Edward Jenner lived in a beautiful Georgian house called The Chantry. Jenner's home is now a museum to honour the memory of the man and his work. The Jenner Museum also displays the science that Edward Jenner founded - Immunology. Edward Jenner's stables are now a small conference centre. We are re-developing the Chantry garden, to take it back to Edward Jenner's time, around 1800. You can discover many of Edward Jenner's ancestors and descendants on this site. You can learn more about Edward Jenner and his work by ordering books, videos etc from this site. Teachers and students in the United Kingdom can find Jenner's links with the National Curriculum in the 'Learning Resources' section. There are even some interactive games you download and try. If you would like to give us your opinion on our chosen topics, please do. Every vote will be recorded. Frequently Asked Questions will be answered, too. HAS SAVED MORE LIVES THAN THE WORK OF ANY OTHER MAN. The Jenner Museum is a Registered Museum (Number 850). It is owned and managed by the Jenner Appeal Trust, a Registered Charity (Charity Number 284085). The Jenner Appeal Trust urgently needs funding to enable it to continue its work to preserve Edward Jenner's home and to promote knowledge of his work. Please contact the Trust if you can offer help.
